Alright, I did some searching after having to decompress 3,000+ files at Shing Jea and I found a little trick that will download and decompress all your files in one shot (well, more like two shots).
Step 1. Open up Guild Wars and leave it at the login screen. If there are updates to be downloaded, you'll see a little lightning bolt at the top right corner. Leave Guld Wars at the login screen until it disappears. Tada! You're done with the download phase.
Step 2a. Creat a copy of your GW shortcut or .exe file. Edit the properties (right click icon > Properties). In the Target field, you should have something that looks like this: ["C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe"]. It might be different if you installed somewhere other than default. Either way, change it to look like this ["C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image]. You're just adding -image to the target destination.
Step 2b. Launch the shortcut and it will open a small window and begin decompressing files. It will close after it is complete. Note: This shortcut will not launch the game. That's why you made a copy.
